Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) is gaining momentum in the race to succeed Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) as the party’s conference chairwoman, thanks to the GOP’s unification against Cheney for exposing the Big Lie of Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was stolen.
The New York congresswoman’s rise within the party and embrace of Trump in recent years reflects the maturation of her party, which has united behind Trump and remains loyal to him despite the fact that the former President is no longer in office and despite the fact that he attempted to overturn the last presidential election and incited a deadly attack on the US Capitol.

Trump is Still in Control of the Party
The GOP’s promotion of Stefanik and rejection of Cheney shows that Trump is still in control of the party and the repercussions of openly criticising the former President, even for Republicans with long records of leadership or a legendary family history in the GOP.
It was her intention to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, which she did. Her campaign released a divisive Facebook ad just before the Endowment’s award ceremony, in which it falsely claimed that “Radical Democrats” are working in tandem with immigrants to stage “a PERMANENT ELECTION INSURRECTION.”
She has been a strong supporter of Donald Trump this month, as well as a strong opponent of the House committee that met on January 6. “We need every citizen of the United States to understand that this is not a serious probe.
A Political Witch Hunt is Underway, “Stefanik Told
Stefanik often promotes electoral conspiracy theories in her advocacy of Trump, including some of the same notions that led to a violent mob storming the U.S. Capitol.
Because of her words and deeds, several of the Endowment’s employees have called for her to be removed as the organization’s CEO. However, when her tenure on the board was up in 2022, she was given a second chance at service.
After all was said and done, Stefanik was one of the Republican members who joined litigation seeking to have President Joe Biden’s triumph overturned by the United States Supreme Court. She did, however, vote against Biden that evening in Pennsylvania, despite her earlier condemnation of the violence on January 6.
In May of 2021, Stefanik reaped the benefits of her loyalty to Trump. Angered by Wyoming representative Liz Cheney’s attacks on President Trump, House Republicans removed her from her position as conference chair.
When Cheney resigned, they quickly found a replacement in Stefanik, elevating her to the third-highest ranking Republican in the House.

Conclusion
Stefanik, Kevin McCarthy, the Republican leader in the House, and Steve Scalise, the Republican whip, issued an united statement condemning the Roe v. Wade ruling. We celebrate this landmark decision that will prevent the needless deaths of many innocent people.
To paraphrase Elise: “Now, Elise, I don’t think she feels that way. She is completely motivated by the desire to get support from the public.
And may God bless her for her perseverance! As I am a businessman, so is she a politician. To maintain her position and advance in her career, she will do anything.
