According to four sources acquainted with President Trump’s illness, the president was much sicker with Covid-19 in October than was generally acknowledged at the time, with severely low blood oxygen levels and a lung problem consistent with pneumonia caused by the coronavirus. Before being brought to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, his prognosis became so dire that officials feared he might need to be placed on a ventilator, according to two people familiar with his health.
Lung infiltrates, which can be caused by fluid or bacteria, were reportedly discovered in Trump, according to persons acquainted with his health. They may indicate an acute case of the disease, especially when present alongside other symptoms.
Trump Was Sicker Than Acknowledged With Covid-19
Blood oxygen levels in the 80s were “very concerning,” as stated by those familiar with his assessment. When the percentage of oxygen in the blood drops below the low 90s, the disease has progressed significantly.
“Trump had problems breathing and a fever on October 2, the day he was rushed to the hospital,” and the severity of his symptoms warranted intensive care.
Although Trump was admitted to Walter Reed for treatment, the medical staff played down the seriousness of his condition.
On the morning of October 2nd, Trump tweeted that he had tested positive for the coronavirus and would be checking into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center later that day. He waved at supporters outside the hospital in a sports utility vehicle and posted a video to his followers. After being released on October 5th, he returned to the White House, where he assured the public that he had never been critically ill and urged them not to be “afraid” of the virus.
The publication reported that during Trump’s COVID-19 illness, his oxygen levels dropped into the 80s. A person may not have enough oxygen in their blood if their oxygen saturation level is less than 89%.
